WASHINGTON, D.C— Today, the House of Representatives passed two bipartisan bills brought to the floor by the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs. These bills showcase the Committee’s commitment to supporting women veterans and increasing access to mental healthcare resources.
“I’m so glad we could come together today to pass two bipartisan bills that will help ensure our veterans can access the care and benefits they’ve earned,” said Chairman Takano. “I applaud Representative Underwood’s leadership on the Protecting Moms Who Served Act-- a critical step in improving veterans’ maternity care and supporting women veterans. Additionally, as we mark Mental Health Awareness Month, I’m pleased that my colleagues joined me in passing the PAWS Act to help ensure that veterans with PTSD can access the mental health resources they deserve.”
Legislation passed today:
1. H.R. 958 – Protecting Moms Who Served Act (Rep. Underwood)
2. A.N.S offered by Rep. Bost to H.R. 1448 – PAWS for Veterans Therapy Act (Rep. Stivers)
